Harvest 2024

Lytton Manor Vineyard harvested it’s Cabernet Sauvignon September 18, 2024, under the full Harvest Moon. Weather and temperatures were ideal. The vineyard was mechanically harvested. We picked 24.8 tons from ~11 acres. Brix was 26.6°.

The 2024 growing season has been very, very good. We had a second wet winter filling our irrigation pond and groundwater reserves. There were a few hot weeks in the upper 90’s and lower 100’s° F but nothing intolerable or extended. For the most part, weather was near normal throughout the growing months staying the upper 80’s to mid-90’s° F during the days, and cooling off at night to the 50’s° F. There was no rain and humidity in Dry Creek Valley was normal, i.e., low. We saw no sunburn, and the most ripe grapes were just beginning to show signs of desiccation. This has been the best vintage year since our chapter began here in 2020. We look forward to tasting our 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon bulk wine.
