About Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 30
From UC Davis: Cabernet Sauvignon FPS 30 is one of three well-respected Cabernet Sauvignon clones that were selected by Phil Freese and Deborah Golino in 1989 from Napa Valley vineyards with a reputation for quality wine production. The Disney Silverado selection was collected from an old vineyard off the Silverado Trail, possibly by the Napa River. That vineyard was believed to be planted with the “See clone” of Cabernet Sauvignon.
About Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 47
From UC Davis: Cabernet Sauvignon FPS 47 came to Foundation Plant Services from the Chambre D’ Agriculture de la Gironde in 1989 as part of a project funded by Winegrowers of California. The selection is reported to be French clone 337.
About Rootstock 1103P
1103P rootstock has high vigor and is drought tolerant. It develops canopy rapidly that helps protect against heat incidents. It performs best on 5′ spacing (our vineyard is 5′ x 8′). It has high resistance to phylloxera and some resistance to root knot.
